On Tuesday, April 25, the Anti-Defamation League Mountain States Region (ADL) hosted the Governor’s 36th Annual Holocaust Remembrance Program at Temple Emanuel in Denver. The event included words from Lieutenant Governor Donna Lynne, the presentation of ADL’s Student Essay Contest winners, and the keynote speaker, Dr. Hana Berger Moran. Dr. Moran’s incredible story of being born during the Holocaust in a German concentration camp was both inspirational and a true reminder of the atrocities that occurred and unfortunately still occur today. In alignment with ADL’s mission, Dr. Moran touched on the importance of finding ways in which to transcend hatred and nurture compassion toward all. “Just remember that we are here. For us, it ended well. For many people, it didn’t,” says Dr. Moran. To learn more about Denver’s youth taking a stance again bigotry, visit ADL.
