RedLine hosted their 4th annual EPIC Gala on Thursday, April 20 in downtown Denver. The event was a success with more than 375 guests in attendance to celebrate the work of RedLine and their Resident Artist program. This year, foundation partners joined together to form the “Arts in Society” program which awarded $465,000 to 21 artists and organizations. In attendance was Governor John Hickenlooper and wife Robin Pringle Hickenlooper, who delivered a compelling speech about the power that art can have on a community. On Tuesday, April 25, the Anti-Defamation League Mountain States Region (ADL) hosted the Governor’s 36th Annual Holocaust Remembrance Program at Temple Emanuel in Denver. The event included words from Lieutenant Governor Donna Lynne, the presentation of ADL’s Student Essay Contest winners, and the keynote speaker, Dr. Hana Berger Moran. Dr. Moran’s incredible story of being born during the Holocaust in a German concentration camp was both inspirational and a true reminder of the atrocities that occurred and unfortunately still occur today. In alignment with ADL’s mission, Dr. Moran touched on the importance of finding ways in which to transcend hatred and nurture compassion toward all. “Just remember that we are here. For us, it ended well. For many people, it didn’t,” says Dr. Moran. To learn more about Denver’s youth taking a stance against bigotry, visit ADL.
